Nick Austin

Founder/program design/community engagement

Nick Austin is the driving force and founder of the Infinity Skate movement. His advocacy for skateboarding within the Midwest has gathered the support of local governments, sporting organisations, schools and regional centres. Much of his work orients around developing community on a voluntary basis and so, remains a critical element to the what, and why behind the vision.

Belated beginnings found Nick skating in his late teens to the tune of wooden transition. Over the years wood became grass, became water - oscillating between land boarding, and kitesurfing - eventually returning to the concrete in an effort to fully absorb the culture behind the board. When not skating or kiting Nick works with at-risk youth developing mentorship programs and strategies which orient around proximity based learning, recognition and responsibility.

“My favourite skater is Shane O’Neill with his insane flips and relaxed style.”

Judges

As a result of being a community driven movement Infinity relies upon a wealth of support to run our events. Thanks go out to all the judges who circulate through the scene, we really couldn't do it without you!
